A genuinely excellent gaming PC for it’s price range and especially its size. A tiny but mighty rig.

As a gamer with 30-years of PC building behind me, I don’t usually go for pre-build OEM systems. In this case, I needed to replace an older system with something that could hit the high watermark for most of the AAA games out there and still not break the bank.
For a pre-built system, this has some truly great specs from the RTX4070, to the I7 proc and the 1TB SSD.
While you can definitely build-you-own rig with a higher overall gaming benchmark score, you’re going to end up with a lot bigger price tag and still have to square up against all the time and effort in assembly.
I can confidently say this is a pre-built gaming machine that will make 90% of gamers very very happy, especially for the price.
BONUS points for a really nice small-form-factor design that makes it much easier to find a home at your desk, but big enough to allow for upgrades without needing tweezers and a magnifying glass.
Lastly, I’m an unapologetic Asus fanboi, and this is yet another proof point that they have earned their reputation and the ROG line of PCs and laptops are a great choice for folks who don’t want to go all the way in on a custom build, but want real performance and value.

It is an amazing but the fans seem to be running 100% all the time which makes it noisy and I don’t know about others but my latch to open the pc up to clean it doesn’t work its just stuck

I really like a mini-PC for gaming because it needs to sit on my desk, and my desk is mostly covered with my work equipment (a separate laptop and its external display). I mostly play Overwatch, Elden Ring, and indie retro games, so I don’t have the absolute highest demands on my hardware.
Previously I gamed on a Zotac Magnus EN1080K that I bought in 2017. After 5 years, the Zotac was having heat problems (I assume its AIO liquid cooler had leaked over time), rising to 90°C while only managing 60 fps in Overwatch at modest graphics settings.
I tried replacing the Zotac with a Minisforum HX99G but was plagued with constant AMD graphics driver timeouts. I returned the Minisforum within two weeks (thank you Amazon for the full refund!) and swore off AMD.
I really like this ASUS ROG G22CH. It’s a fair bit bigger than the Zotac and a lot bigger than the Minisform, but unlike those two, the ASUS power supply is built in. Its RTX 4070 card was released less than a year ago, so it should be good for several years, especially for a non-cutting-edge gamer like me.
Be warned that it’s vented on both sides, so it needs to be in its upright position while running.
UPDATE
I noticed some other reviews complaining about being unable to slide the latch to open the case.
There is a hidden screw under a triangular plug next to the latch. You need to remove the plug and the screw to allow the latch to slide. I’ve attached photos showing the plug and screw.

ASUS never fails. They’re my go to for affordable but great gaming rigs. I have a G11 for over 10 years (still running, with an upgraded RTX3060). This little machine is running Dragon Dogma 2 at max settings. No problems. I also like the thought put into evacuating hot air at the top instead of back (hot air rises). The thought/protection put into packaging is … wow … nice.

I got this on sale for $1560-ish (before tax), which is a great value for this rig. Excellent capabilities for modern gaming. The size of the PC is amazing! It’s not designed for horizontal orientation, so be aware of that if you are trying to put it in your living room entertainment center. Only real downside is only one USB-C port, and its located on the top of the case. I wish the front ports closer to the base since the unit is always vertical.

This PC has been great for most games I’ve needed to use them for. The RTX card in this is pretty good, considering I made a jump from a 2080 Super.
I’m also someone who just doesn’t have the time anymore to find each part and build a computer. This runs well when you consider its size, specs, and convenience through Amazon.
Downside is that the amount of built-in storage is pretty low. You can store more games in an Xbox Series X. That’s something to consider if you’re buying this and want to play games that take up at least 80+ GB of space.
