Legs were not quite even. Which was disappointing. The unit is plenty sturdy though, I’m not sure how other purchasers had it collapse. I cut off about 6.5 inches of the main tube, 4 inches off the internal tube and 5 inches off each leg. Finally I trimmed the foam pads on the legs by an inch and a half to turn it into a ukulele stand to match my guitar stand. Fun and doable afternoon project if you have a pop rivet gun (5/32), drill, pipe cutter, internal de-burrer and a saw (for the internal tube).

I own several Ultimate single guitar stands. I bought a ukulele stand from another manufacturer for my guitarlele. The guitarlele neck was too wide for the uke stand, so I returned it. I saw this and decided to try it. Works great and keeps my two favorite practice guitars close to my “fat man chair”. My wife actually suggested that I buy more of these stands, which is a rare occurrence when she encourages me to buy more gear…another benefit is that I never noticed the pick holders on my other stands until I was looking closely at this one.

The stand legs collapsed almost immediately after starting use. I wrote to the company (a complicated online procedure) and was sent a plastic replacement leg lock without instructions on how to install it. The unit is rivet-constructed, so near impossible to take apart and repair. I wrote a second time asking about this, and was sent a link to a video showing a complex replacement process involving a power drill and rivet gun. I wrote again to tell them I don’t own a rivet gun. No response to that, so I drilled out the existing shaft rivet, figuring I’d replace it with a screw, separated the shaft from the base (a difficult process involving two wrenches) and replaced the plastic leg lock with the one they sent, following the instructions in their video. I could find no position in which this leg lock worked—the stand just collapses, as shown in the enclosed photo. I don’t have time, equipment or expertise to continue trying to repair this thing. I wrote again requesting a return of this unfixable item, and was told I’d have to contact Amazon about that. I’m not in the habit of posting negative online reviews, but I’m at a loss what to do next. With its rivet construction this stand is not at all designed to be repairable by the end user, and customer service shas been poor. I would not recommend purcchasing this stand.
UPDATE: The manufacturer sent me a new one, which so far seems to be working.

I originally bought this to help me include a second guitar in my live music sets, but I like it for just one guitar, too. I play more than guitar, so I’m not as worried about putting the guitar aside on stage with this sturdier, steadier stand. The guitar is easier to reach for between songs, too. I like how this stand folds up and fits in my long, skinny gig bag. No more fussing with multiple pieces to put together and take apart for every gig.

This is a defective design. I tried to use it to hold two bass guitars. Not exceptionally heavy ones – one is exactly 8 lbs, the other is 9.1 lbs. The stand could not support the weight. The shaft sank down into the tube, even though the red lever was in the lock position, until both basses were resting on the ground. The level/lock does not hold the shaft in position securely enough. Not sure what the weight limit is on this, but obviously 17.2 lbs is too much.
Don’t buy this unless you are putting two very lightweight guitars on it, like acoustics.

I love that I don’t have to bring 2 stands when I have 2 instruments along. I hang 2 mountain dulcimers on it, AND a ukulele (found an attachment that fits on this stand). It is very sturdy. My only nit is that the lock is a bit hard to turn, but it DOES work and the stand is a keeper!

Bought because I like to switch between fretted and fretless basses. Looked like a great solution to my needs as I currently use 2 Ultimate stands and liked the idea of just having one. one of my basses is about 10 lbs and the other is 7. when I put them both on the main tube sinks down until one of the basses touches the floor. Even if I pull it up only as far as to get an inch or two between bass and floor it still sinks down. Maybe my 10 pounder is too much for it but most basses are in that 7-10lb range. As much as I love the idea of having a one piece double stand, this just doesn’t work for me.

i currently own 2 Ultimate Support GS-100 stands that i use for my banjos. i can’t say enough good about them as Bluegrass Banjo’s are very heavy, when i found out that the company made a stand for 2 instruments, i bought one right away. i have used it twice so far, and i must say that for playing on stage, they are perfect. I can put my longer 22 fret workhorse Bluegrass banjo as well as my 1930 Bacon & Day Long neck Irish Tenor banjo on this same stand without them clunking into one another, and they are easier to get to than with multiple stands on stage! great product!
