Worked well for gaining access to my 2008 3com 3cdsg8. I forgot the username… Fun fact you can not change the user name so it is admin. But I found that out after hacking into it to reset the user name (can not reset the user name) and password. Fun time learning the in and outs of using program called PuTTY!

I purchased 3 of these in December 2021. As of now all 3 have failed.
Seems to have a lifespan of about 2 years, gets hot enough to melt plastic and in fact burned up my usb port in my console server.
It’s me –
Needed a console cable for my Juniper switch and figured would be worth getting one with built in USB>serial converter, this works beautifully out of the box, no fuss, plug in and connected right up. It’s detected as an FTDI device, not sure if the chipset is genuine, but it works well enough without any issues.
