TETON Sports Celsius XXL Oversize Sleeping Bag

Super warm. Planned to use it for an ice fishing trip that we intended to sleep out in the ice hut. However, we ended up renting a cottage. Didn’t know what to expect when I got there. I used the sleeping bag abs was way too hot indoors. Has to open it up and use as a comforter. Waiting for a chance to use it in cold weather sometime soon as COVID restrictions are lifted. I’m sure it will be just fine. Arrived in excellent shape. Packing it back into the carry bag is easy. No need to roll up. I just kept shoving it in and when you take it out no creases. I ordered the right hand zip but should have ordered the left hand zip. No big deal but I’ll know better for next time I order a sleeping bag.
I also ordered the XL version. I normally feel claustrophobic in sleeping bags as I tend to be a restless sleeper. Easier to roll around in. Here’s a tip. Best to sleep with Minimal or no clothing. The flannel inner liner tends to cause sticking to clothing. But that’s just my thoughts. They also sell an inner cotton liner but didn’t bother to order one. May help but for the amount of times I will using it I didn’t see a need for it.

This is a nice sleeping bag… very lofty and soft on the inside, zipper seems to be of good quality. Lots of velcro keeping the bag from coming undone, I like the inclusion of velcro keeper tabs when the velcro is not in use. The bag is well thought out. It Suffers the same problem every sleeping bag ever has… material gets caught in the zipper when you are zipping it up… again, I’ve never had a bag not do this, just be mindful.
This bag has tons of room to relax, it almost feels like its own little world in this bag.
I’m not a HUGE guy, but 5’11, 280 lbs, im wide build. This is the first bag of my adult life that I can comfortably use. I’m finally getting good sleep in my tent again!
My wife saw the size if this thing and thought it was silly… until she used it… now I have to buy her one!
What this ISNT… is a small, ultralight bag for light hiking or ultralight packing.
What this IS… a really nice, thick, comfortable bag that should be able to fit anyone smaller than Andre…
The stuff sack it comes with is pretty nice, far better than they had to include. The bag easily stuffs back into the sack, and can be compressed about 75% its uncompressed size.
I was expecting to need an aftermarket stuff sack, but this one will do just fine.
For the price point, you cannot go wrong with this bag.

…I am in my mid-60’s and still love to camp, but due to a replacement-hip and several damaged disks in my spine, sleeping on the ground in a tent is no longer a comfortable option for me, so for the last decade I have slept in my Dodge-Minivan on a regular mattress…But this has worn out, so I decided to upgrade…

…I wanted a cot, but didnt like the small, creaky, uncomfortable cots carried in most stores, so went online and found a GInormous one that had good reviews, and the manufacturer also made a sleeping-bag in the same size…40 x 85..

…I bought both, and coupled them with a 2″ memory-foam pad which I sandwiched between the bag and cot with an old quilt, holding that combo in place with light elastic cords….

..I am just sorry i did not do this years earlier!..This bag is HUGE!!!…It is very comfortable, with two-drawstring closures around the top to keep out drafts, very nice large padded batting along the zipper so you never make contact with the zipper while inside the bag, which also insulates that area well….

…It has two nylon loops on the bottom for tying down to a cot to keep the bag in place, which is a nice feature…and overall the craftsmanship looks solid and of good-quality materials…I have had expensive down and synthetic bags in the past, and this bag compares nicely with them at a modest price making it good-value for your bucks!

…I have not tested it to 0 degrees, but I can say that at 40 degrees I had to open the zip and hang my arms out for a long time as it was Very warm inside, so I am extremely happy and satisfied with this bag so far!…Obviously, only repeated use and time will tell how well it holds up and performs in the long run, but seriously, at this price, if it only lasted a few years it would have been well worth the reasonable price…

…This bag also comes with a very sturdy and well-made stuff-sack that has multiple compression straps to shrink it quite small…but it is fairly heavy…so I doubt this would be a good bag for back-packing…but I seriously doubt it was designed for that purpose in the first place…and if you are vehicle or tent camping, the weight is hardly a factor…

…My only complaint is minor, as you get a choice of left or right-hand zipper, and this bag can be joined to another, which would create a combined bag the size of a king-sized bed!..JEEZ!….I chose the left-hand zip, but when it arrived..the zip was on the right-side as I laid in it, but was still labeled left-hand zip..So I found this a bit confusing, as I guess if you were standing at the foot of the bag the zip would BE on the left….but once in it…it is on the right-side of the bag?

…Perhaps this is a normal way of designating sides, but should be considered when you place an order…

…Aside from that, I am Very pleased with this product, and would gladly recommend it and the manufacturer at any time!…The bag arrived well-packed and boxed, and in a short time after I placed the order….and I cant wait to go out and do some serious camping with it!

Awesome sleeping bag! I did about 5 hours of research before my final purchase and I am super happy.

About these bags…there are Celsius and Fahrenheit models of the same bag. It looks like the only difference is that the F model interior is made of COTTON fleece and the C model is made of POLY fleece….so this bag is going to be the higher quality model.

If you are 6′ tall or more, you should get the XL or XXL model (90″ long) because you lose a good 10″ of length with the regular model. I am 5’5 and I appreciate the extra length because you can slip your body to the very bottom of the bag and pull the front over your head, completely isolating yourself from the outside world.

My intention of getting the XXL bag was to happen upon a sexy other that may not have such cozy sleeping arrangements and stuff them oh-so-close beside me in my conveniently big enough sleeping bag. This bag is small enough to not look obvious to my plan, yet big enough where two smaller people could sleep on their sides, cuddled next to each other inside the bag. There is no way two people could sleep side by side on their backs…..33″ wide is sadly, just not enough. It is good for extra elbow room, which I am taking full advantage of.

Teton also sells the mammoth bags that are designed for two people, but if I took that on a trip with me, I would be looking pretty desperate, not to mention, they are huge to carry around.

This baby is warm….I got the 0 degree model for my 40 degree campouts because these companies are all exaggerators. I was snugly warm, and not too hot at the same time.

One altercation is that the bag does not zip at the bottom, making it near impossible to use as a flat blanket. It does, however have a seam at the bottom so I think I will rip this baby apart and sew on some velcro so I can open it up all the way.

The sack that contains the sleeping bag is awesome. You can actually put the sleeping bag back inside after removing it and it comes with straps to shrink the size down a bit. It’s also water-resistant, but I would spray it down with some repellant if I was planning on giving it a good soaking.

What more can I say? Great price, will keep you warm and cozy, my guess is down to the 20’s.
