This is an excellent mattress for car camping. It is not a backpacking mattress by any stretch of the imagination. The rechargeable pump, USB C, is fast and powerful, and it also has an LED light. The pump is a bonus feature. The fill valve is the typical flip-to-fill and flip-to-deflate valve. My only issue with the pump is how various adapters are tethered to it. The tether is so short that the adapters get in the way while connecting the pump to the valve, which makes the process fiddly and frustrating. I cut them off and will attach them with an appropriate length of bank line or similar cordage. Also, this pump makes a great fire bellows….blowing a fire into flame in a hearbeat.

Got to use this on a recent Fall overlanding trip and camp out. Slept plenty warm with the temps in the upper 30°s F overnight. I’m a side sleeper, and slept more than comfortable on the 3 nights I’ve used it so far. Firm enough I didn’t wake up with my hip against the ground. Seems to be well made and durable. First time I used it, I did inflate it with the provided rechargeable air pump, but after that just letting it self inflate as soon as we made camp it was perfect by the time we hit the sack. Never did time it to see how long self inflating actually took. Well worth the price I paid for it.

This sleeping pad is a decent one for car camping. I can’t remember the more reputable brand, but this one is a good knock off of that brand. I got this brand because a buddy of mine uses the higher quality one and swears by it. I wasn’t ready to put up the bigger bucks so I went with this one more to try out the concept.
This mattress has performed very well in the two trials Ive done with it. I slept one night after pumping it up with the compressor. Then I tried a different night sleeping on it after simple allowing the mattress to self inflate. Both tests went just fine. Obviously, the self inflated mattress was not as full as the pumped up one. Still it was good enough to keep me comfortable. I didn’t feel the ground at all and I’m a side sleeper.
I think where this mattress is a bit lower quality than the more expensive one is in the foam filling. This one has a thinner layer than my buddy’s and it doesn’t feel as plush as that one. The compressor for this one is fine. The stuff sack is roomy enough for everything, and I have been able get the pad deflated well with the assistance of the compressor.
If you don’t want to spend money on the more expensive brand, this knock off is a good one. It’s not perfect, but it is more comfortable than a pure air mattress.

The air mattress is comfortable and easy to inflate/deflate. It comes with a large storage bag which is a big plus for getting packed after a weekend camp.
The air pump i received does not work, it will not take a charge and the charge indicator never turns on (red or green). My fiancé purchased the same mattress and also received a non-functional air pump. If the seller can send me a working pump then I’ll happily keep the product other wise I’ll attempt to exchange it at least once. I really like the mattress but if they include a pump it should at least power on.

It’s ginormous. I was shocked when I saw how large it was even packed down. It is far too large for camping, unless you like to bring a lot of heavy stuff or really need this level of mattress. It might be better for a rollout cot or at home floor mattress, but I wouldn’t call it portable. Otherwise, it is very thick and probably good for people who need a lot of padding.

With comfort you’ve always got to sacrifice something. In the military you get some thin dense foam; better than rocks they say; of course. Well eventually you realize that anything that ‘separates you from nature’ is important to be GOOD. Durable where needed, and comfortable where needed. Freezing on a cold ground, or a deflated mattress sucks…but so does lugging around a heavy foam mattress. Life is about give and take; and what you’re willing to suffer/endure. And everyone has their varying goals…some gram weenies cut their toothbrushes and tie them to a stick just to save on ounces; and I feel that’s incredible and dedicated; I don’t judge, to each their own. The military learned that just shaving ounces off boots could change how far a forced march could be endured; and it was significant; like hours and miles. Lugging weight matters.
Now; why’d he say all that: From the car to the tent – this thing is heavy – once inside; regardless of how you got it there (honey, can you grab my mattress please?) matters little because this thing is amazingly comfortable.
1) so few ‘reviewers’ say much about themselves – and that’s foolish when trying to figure out how something might work for YOU; I don’t know you – I know me. I’m 200# 6’3 and a SIDE SLEEPER (that one is a major thing.
2) this is HUGE…sure it’s got dimensions…but other pads are 22″ and 24″ is very common 30″ feels luxurious…and every bed feels small when the dogs climb in. 79″ is amazing…nothing like NOT having arm room when you do end up stomach down. Being 4″ longer than me is very noticable.
3) great friction – depends on whether you’re a ‘cold prickly’ or a ‘warm fuzzy’ on what you like touching your skin…for me, nylon (or that smooth slick slippery (sweaty)) stuff just doesn’t work – feels terrible – I’ll happily freeze in a flannel before I put that slip and slide on me. Other stuff seems to end up everywhere…and often off the pad you had. NOT EVERYONE sleeps on their back in a mummy bag with their hands by their sides; but always feels like reviewers and manufacturers belief as such.
4) thickness…side sleeper – I won’t say the ‘ground disappears’ it’s just very less noticeable. I do not toss and turn waking often; which I usually do; a light sleeper; but often temp related (overheating; legs/arms out; later freezing and bring it all back in; noise in the ‘woods’ OMG what was that?!)
5) material as I indicated it’s got some friction to it…of course add to that nylon and you’re removing half the equation. Turning is much easier easier because my bag stays put. Yes, mine is beige…but ya know what we don’t ‘toss in the washing machine’? CARPETS, rugs…and other big things; it’s not as convenient of course, but you CAN clean it. And it’ll get dirty – have you ever BEEN CAMPING – everything already does regardless. The nylon folks do have the advantage edge here.
What I like:
That the BAG is also an inflation device (sure it came with a pump; mine worked and charged just fine; read another review indicating problems…fyi lithium batteries have low voltage protection – you can ‘boost’ charge them if you can get on the cell side of the bms (battery management system; or components)…pos to pos – neg to neg and push in a few happy pixies – another battery can do it – use some good sized wire because there may be some heat involved…eventually you get enough pixies in there that the ‘control’ circuitry doesn’t see too low of a voltage and kicks back on – then you can recharge as normal. Is this ‘best’ for a dead cell – no; but I feel NOT THROWING e-waste away is a better solution. What’s great here is IF your battery dies…falls in water; or otherwise ‘fails’ (lost, stolen, broken) the bag still functions as an inflator. And you ‘could’ (NOT SHOULD) air it up with your mouth – this is NOT recommended because you’ll trap your wet breath air inside – it will stink eventually. It is also ‘self inflating’ (which just means the foam poofs up) but you’ll want the air for better support.
It’s SILENT moving around is unheard by others.
It’s WARM
It’s SOFT and comfortable…unless you run your foot across the top (which I did more times than I care to admit – it’s not sharp or anything – but hard plastic is hard – and it’s right there at the ankle protrusion) or if you raise your foot up while it’s above.
Its edge ‘feels safer’ I’m always worried that thinner mattresses take damage when at the edges – this gives me more confidence.
you ‘can’ sleep on the reverse side so know that it’s not identical on all surfaces.
valve is a ‘rotate style) it’s a check valve that you rotate to empty – like a butterfly valve (guess my job)
deflates fast
bag is sized adequately to restuff
usb c connector – it’s not ‘real usbc’ which is c to c and much higher amps for charging
What I don’t like: These are ‘gripes’ not REFLECTING the quality of the product – more things I think/thought about – may not be relevant for you.
it’s not real usbc – can’t ‘kick over’ a smart charger (IQ) so be sure to check before you leave home (not sure how you do ‘power’ us; solar, battery banks, etc.
Rolling it up is difficult (but of course it is, it’s 4″ of foam that has to be ‘un poofed’
bag cannot be used as a flotation device
bag if punctured would affect viability as an air displacement method (if you don’t have the air pump then you’re stuck with self inflation or your breath)
I wish the ‘adaptors’ for the pump had some sort of attachment method to the pump if those get lost you will have problems…you could use towels, plastic baggies, and what not to ‘fill the gaps’ – and the pump isn’t specifically designed just for this mattress as it’s got other fittings not applicable – so it’s clearly some other ‘random pump’ tossed in here. Minimally a small bag for pump; adaptors; and usb a to c cable
pump cannot handle ‘vacuuming’ the air out of the mat – and neither can the bag, it’ll be a roll and weight solution only (and the adaptors get annoyingly in the way – rcmd you reattach with some string for convenience.
I will very likely buy a more durable bag for both the ‘bag’ and the mattress – getting a hole in the storage bag might impact your situation…maybe 4″ is good enough for you but I need air also. Maybe you’ll set this up once and leave (ala never roll it up again).
I have no idea the ‘longevity’ of the valve…but there is a threaded cap if the valve fails/leaks. You’ll get ‘some air’ in there to help with weight – but it’ll mostly be the foam…there’s not a lot of air room inside and the valve is pretty big diameter.
