I could give this a four-star rating because you can’t really use the 6 outlets unless you have very tiny connectors but changing a 2 outlet to a 4 and protecting it, is a good deal to me. They are also pleasant to look at and my European to American adapter doesn’t fall off of it, which it does with basically any other outlet, in fact, I was going to buy another adapter thinking that it was the adapter to blame but this surge protector keeps it good and not falling.
I also have to say that I have surges at least once a week and it is doing fine protecting my equipment.

My washing machine, which had been protected with a Belkin 900 joules surge protection device, recently experienced a power surge. That power surge fried my machine’s circuit board. That surge protector was unable to protect it.
Fortunately, I was able to purchase an inexpensive, used circuit board for my washing machine, and following an easy removal & installation, my machine is running beautifully again. But, I’m back to trying to protect it. I don’t know if any surge protector will actually protect it, but still I try. So, I purchased this GE surge protector. It features a slightly higher level of protection at 1020 joules. But, here’s the deal with this GE surge protector. There are no indicator lights to show that it is protecting or not protecting. There is also no audible alarm to indicate when it’s stopped protecting. Allegedly, the device just shuts down, boom. So, one could spend a good deal of time trying to figure out why a connected device isn’t working — all the while the surge protector will smile at you like the Mona Lisa hiding the fact that it shut down power to your device (or maybe didn’t protect it at all).
This GE surge protector is UL listed. It plugs into the outlet, but does not have a center screw to anchor it to the outlet.

Could be a little thinner, but it doesn’t stick out any farther than a cord would. It is also nice not to have anything laying on the floor, makes cleaning easier. I haven’t used it to travel yet, but it would be great. I wanted a surge protector for my devices @ home. I bought 4, but need to order more. Until it gets a little wear on it, it is hard to unplug things – need both hands, one to hold surge protector & other to unplug. If you have a heavy object (electric razor) it can tilt from weight. I just put in the middle bottom plug – no tilt. GREAT for my use!!

Great little adapter for the kitchen. We didn’t want to introduce any more wires than necessary, so this surge protector was a great alternative to a traditional power strip.
Running an espresso machine, blender, lamp, coffee grinder, and echo show all out of this surge protector and it handles it all like a champ. Definitely a great way to support all of your devices without adding any more clutter – helping maximize your functional counter space.
I haven’t used it for traveling, but I’d imagine this would be a nice outlet extension to pair with a universal travel adapter if you’re traveling internationally. Quickly go from a single foreign outlet into 6 US compatible power sources.
