Benro SupaDupa Monopod, 72″ Max Height, MSD46C

EXTREMLY GOOD QUAILITY.

I was considering a Gitzo at 3X the cost, but decided to Benro Supra would be a perfect fit. I use it for heavy glass without concerns. I love a quick clip height adjuster which is great for my style of shooting. Folds down into a small 15″ height.

This monopod is very solid I use it with big Canon glass. The twist locks secure easily and do not slip – no death twist required. The one quick-lock lever also works easily and can be adjusted for tightness with the included tool.

The monopod thread at the top is a 3/8″ or 1/4″ spring-loaded design like most Manfrotto monopods. No tools are required to switch between them.

My primary purpose for getting this particular monopod is the compact size closed. It will fit inside a Pelican Air 1535 carry-on case.

A well-made storage bag is also included. This is a tall monopod and would work for those even over 6′ tall.

Appeared to be new in box, upon unpacking it was clear the item had been unpacked, dropped and repacked as new. One star for crappy company. The device itself is great and after calling Benro, they explained just because it says company store, it does not mean the Amazon store is from them. They sent me a new part imediately. + Super kompakt und angemessen leicht bei einer vernünftigen Größe, durch die eingebaute Nivellierkalotte mit immerhin 20 %/ Grad (?) Verstellweg
+ Gute Idee mit den drei Schraubverschlüssen und dem Fliplock für Schnell-Verstellung: ist der richtige Ansatz in der Praxis. Man baut das Stativ auf, relativ flott, alle Schaub-Sektionen (Twist Lock) wasserdicht… montiert die Kamera, und dann kann man für die exakte Einstellung des Bildausschnitts In der Höhe die Schnellverstellung benutzen
+ gutes Design, tolles Material, hochwertige Verarbeitung, alles sehr griffig und solide – das Carbon ist sehr solide und mit “tiefer” Resonanz, die einzelne Segmente sind 36,2-21,2 mm im Durchmesser: das bietet sonst kein Mitbewerber, dort ist das dünnste Bein meistens nur 18 oder 19 mm
– auch andere Ideen sind gut: wie zum Beispiel die extra lange Kordel, zum Transport oder zum Fixieren am Körper für mehr Stabilität – auch perfekt: der Schnellverschluss-Knopf der Basisplatte in 2 Stufen: 1. lösen mit ⅓ Umdrehung ca., Arca-like Platte einsetzen … wenn mann die Platte ganz lösen will: Widerstand überwinden und Schraube ganz lösen
o die Twist Lock Drehverschlüsse sind eher schwergängig, das kann aber daran liegen, dass diese wasserdicht gestaltet sind. Das ist übrigens der Fliplock oben nicht, deshalb sollte das Stativ nicht bis dort ins Wasser gestellt werden: der geht richtig flott
o Kleine Nebensache: leider bietet Benro keine Basis Stativ-Spinne an (anders als die zwei anderen Mitbewerber aus dem fernen Osten)… Hier muss man woanders einkaufen, Solange das Gewinde passt gibt es hier zwei Möglichkeiten und den erweiterten Markt von Drittanbietern

Auch wenn der Preis etwas höher ist, für Enthusiasten, Amateure mit höheren Ansprüchen und auch Profis insgesamt das beste Stativ. Dabei spielt auch eine Rolle, dass das Design unauffällig ist. Ein Mitbewerber hat jetzt eigenartige chrom farbige Drehverschlüsse, und ein weiteres Modell aus dem eigenen Stall mit 2 Wege Neiger kommt mit türkisblauen Verschlüssen und Dekoelementen daher: voll peinlich beim Shooting

Extra Tipp für den Flip Lock, also Schnellverschluss mit Spannklemme ganz oben: der ist werkseitig in einer Achse mit dem Fixierhebel für die Nivellierkalotte Angebracht und fixiert. Das fand ich unpraktisch, wenn ich oben mit der rechten Hand die Kamera halte, links die nivellierkalotte Feststelle. Dann muss ich weiter unten viel zu weit nach vorne greifen und laufe Gefahr, dabei die Ausrichtung des Einbeins Zu verreisen. Ich habe deswegen mit einem passenden Inbusschlüssel die kleine Schraube etwas gelockert, Dann die Klemme gelöst und das ganze um 30-45° nach hinten verdreht und wieder fixiert. GROSSES MANKO – Der kompakte nivelliere Kopf ist verklebt Mit dem Carbonrohr und kann nicht ausgetauscht werden. Ich habe mir deswegen parallel das größere Stativ bis 1,83 m zugelegt, und da einen separaten Nivellierkopf /Platte Draufgesetzt. Da gibt es nur ein Modell, dass auch eine Panoramaeinrichtung auf dem Kopf hat quasi, sunwayfoto 68R… Das ist nur 15 cm länger, man muss ja auch noch eine Klemmplatte montieren, kommt halt drauf an: bei Wanderung würde ich dieses Stativ bevorzugen, ansonsten das längere

Very well made , sturdy , very light . The rating for load capacity is higher than any monopod I’V read about at 88lbs . I watched a couple pro photographers reviews on you tube for this SupaDupa monopod and rated it high end , but haven’t had it in the field yet. Myself included , I have mounted a side mount Wimberley gimbal head and my camera with my 600mm f4 lens to this SupaDupa and just getting used to it in the house and I’m really liking how sturdy and stable it is .Another great feature when you have the legs extended , mount your lens , then you’ll notice the top section of the monopod has a latch if you open that latch you can extend the top section taller and if you push with some downward force after securing the latch if it moves or slips , they provide a tool to tighten the latch so it don’t slip , mine was fine with no adjustment . With that top section extended , I found I had no need to extend the very bottom section of the monopod witch is the narrowest of the legs , but believe me still strong section . You can remove , unscrew the rubber foot and replace with the spike provided , if you prefer The price point for the quality of this product if very good .
